A little information about our CEO
The path Ari Cohen has taken to become Founding CEO of Kanari Sound was a convoluted and adventurous one.
At age 8, Ari started playing Alto Saxophone. Pivoting at age 16 he started teaching himself guitar and within a year Ari was performing at live concerts in rock bands, performing both covers and original music. In his early twenties Ari made the leap to move abroad to start a three-year term of army service.
Along this adventurous road, Ari has received various accolades and achievements; he was offered a placement at LaGuardia High School in New York City and programs from Manhattan School of Music (operating on an invite-by-merit-only entry system) on Saxophone Performance. Berklee College of Music also accepted Ari in their guitar performance program after only two years of self-instruction. On the side, Ari also spent time on non-artist work on Wall Street and learned multiple foreign languages.
Ari has spent the last decade becoming a student of life, honing the skills and learning the lessons necessary to become even better at doing what he feels born to do: make music. This is a journey Ari feels passionately about continuing. “I want to wake up every single day doing what I love, so I can be the best version of myself I can be while sharing that love with everyone I meet.”
These days, he spends the bulk of his time creating music for film, tv, advertisements and other visual media with his many collaborators (often becoming close friends in the process), running his music business, as well as teaching English as a second language.
